Dr. Katarzyna Kempinska grew up in Poland where she completed a PhD in Biology at the University of Wrocław.  Her career has advanced numerous drug discovery projects while leading the cell- and rodent-based arms of these research projects.  After finishing her doctorate, she joined an Oncology Department at the Polish Academy of Science where her aided in developing future therapeutics to treat a range of different cancers.  She moved to the US in 2014 where she joined the Department of Pathology at the University of Michigan evaluating small molecule treatments for acute myeloid leukemia in rodent models.  From there, she moved to San Diego to study pediatric neuroblastoma at the University of California San Diego.  She joins the PHP team through the laboratory of Dr. Lorenzo Sempere where she will continue to cover the in vivo efforts of his pancreatic cancer projects.
