Dr. Mohamed Ashry is a Postdoctoral fellow at the Precision Health program. He received his PhD in Animal Science through joint doctoral studies program between Cairo University, Egypt and Michigan State University. After graduation, he worked as postdoctoral fellow in the Animal Science department here at MSU where his research aimed at understanding molecular mechanisms and signaling pathways that regulate oocyte competence, folliculogenesis and early embryonic development in cattle and mouse. His current research in Sempere’s lab is focusing on intraductal approaches for prevention and treatment of breast cancer in rodent and rabbit models. Dr. Ashry is a recipient of the NIH-T32 postdoctoral fellowship in 2020, the Egyptian government predoctoral fellowship in 2013 and DAAD short term research fellowship in 2012.
